About Illinois Valley Outdoors

A sports writer/photographer by day, I like to mix things up in my free time and focus on nature and the outdoors.

There's a lot of beautiful subject matter around my native Illinois Valley area, which is the focus of this blog. Although anything is fair game since I get to set the rules!

Tech specs

I shoot with a Nikon D5100.
The majority of photos on this blog are taken with a Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 G lens. I also use a Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6 G.
Flash is provided with a Yongnuo YN560 Speedlite, and triggered with Yongnuo RF-G03N transceivers.
